Girls U16 Championship Round 4
Caulry 3-11
Killucan 4-11
Our U16 girls were narrowly defeated by a strong Killucan side after a hard fought contest in the park on Tuesday evening last.
The sides were evenly matched from the offset as they traded 1-2 within the opening quarter: Kate Corcoran was our scorer on all occasions. A second goal from Corcoran gave our girls the edge once again before a trio of points from Corcoran, Aoife McDermott and Chloe Doyle further extended our lead. Eimear Allen got on the end of a ball in by McDermott on the 19th minute and booted home our third goal of the game. The sides shared six points before the break as our girls led 3-8 to 1-5.
Killucan came out fighting in the second half as they had early goal opportunities (credit must be give to our net minder Grace Donohoe who managed to keep the Killucan forwards at bay). Instead, the opposition had to settle for two points. Kelly Lynam restarted our scoring then when she finished with a point from play on the 41st minute. However, Killucan were hot on our heels as 1-3 in quick concession sliced our lead to two. A duo of points from McDermott momentarily doubled our lead again, but within the space of two minutes, Killucan had drawn level as five minutes remained. The two sides fought to the bitter end of the game with the yellow bellies eventually striking lucky and pocketing a late goal to snatch the win.

Junior B Championship Round 3
Caulry 1-16
Multyfarnham 3-15
Our Junior B side came up short against Multyfarnham when they hosted the side in the park on Tuesday evening last.
The sides matched one another’s scores in the early stages of the game as Cody Parker and Liam Malynn were on target for Caulry. Multyfarnham then went ahead with a goal after nine minutes. The visitors further stretched their lead as they outscored Caulry 0-1 to 0-4 (Daniel Lynam fisted over a score for us). A good kickout from Fionn O’Donovan found David Gaynor as this brilliant move was finished to the back of the next by Malynn. A late point for Multyfarnham saw them lead by four at the break.
There was a flurry of points inside the resuming ten minutes of play as the teams shared six points (Aaron Murphy and Alan Daly adding to our scoreline). By the end of the third quarter, the sides were back level after a trio of Caulry scores: Malynn and Murphy both added their second two-point scores as Donoghue added a point from play. Almost immediately, the opposition went ahead again with their second goal of the game. Malynn converted frees either side of a Multyfarnham point to keep Caulry in touching distance. In the last five minutes of game, the opposition just seemed to have a bit more left in the engine as they added 1-4 to our 0-2 to come away with the win.

Ladies IFC Round 3
Caulry 5-11
Milltownpass 3-14
Our ladies picked up their second consecutive win when they traveled to Milltownpass on Thursday evening last for Round 3 of the IFC.
The sides were evenly matched throughout the game as evident in the opening minutes when the teams shared four points (Leah Quigley and Molly Connaughton both taking their scores well). A routine free by Quigley gave Caulry the edge before Lauren Claffey cut in from the sideline and finished with a goal. The homeside were hot on our heels though as they brought the deficit back to one following a goal of their own on the 20th minute. Before the break, the sides traded a tally of 0-4 as Caulry led by one at the interval.
Milltownpass almost immediately turned the scoreline on its head in the second half as they kicked two fine points from play. Quigley levelled the game on the 34th minute then after the Milltownpass goalie denied Kate Stuart Trainor’s shot. 1-1 in quick succession launched the opposition into the lead then. However, this was short lived as the Caulry girls responded in style, adding 3-2 to regain the advantage (Quigley added the two points before Jasmine Maloney and Stuart Trainor pocketed our goals from play while Connaughton converted a penalty). By the end of this third quarter, our girls lead by six. Milltownpass dug deep during this final period as they brought the deficit back to three by out scoring us 0-1 to 0-4 (Aoife Collins the sole Caulry scorer). Stuart Trainor kicked a much needed goal deep into injury time then (Claffey fighting hard for kickout on this occasion while Áine Gaynor picked out the corner forward with a pin point pass). Before the fulltime whistle, the homeside booted the last goal of the game but ultimately, our ladies had done enough to keep up their winning ways.

J2FC Round 3
Caulry 3-11
Tyrrellspass 2-4
Our second team made easy work of Tyrrellspass when they hosted the side in the park on Friday evening last.
John Maguire opened the scoring account with a point inside the opening 30 seconds of play. A Tyrrellspass point from play preceded the first and only two-point score of the game (this a free from the boot of Liam Malynn). The opposition momentarily went in front then courtesy of a goal resulting from a high ball in. Dean Burns levelled the game on the 20th minute with a point from play. Glenn Carolan then edged Caulry in front after a good run up the field by Ciaran Gaynor. Daniel Lynam kicked out first goal of the game after twenty-seven minutes when he got on the end of a ball in my Maguire. Malynn added a point from play before Lynam struck lucky for a second time (his brother Alan showing guile by launching the ball inside). This saw the scoreboard read 2-6 to 1-1 at the halftime whistle.
Our lads pushed on in the third quarter of the game as we outscored the opposition 0-5 to 0-2 (Rory Hatton kicked two fine points before Alan Lynam, Carolan and Burns got one each). Malynn converted a penalty at the start of the last quarter which gave Tyrrellspass a mountainous task as they searched for a win. Before the fulltime whistle, the visitors did add 1-1 to the scoreline but ultimately, our lads had done enough to secure this brace of points.

SFC Round 3
Caulry 0-8
Coralstown/Kinnegad 1-16
Our seniors came up short when they made the journey to Tang on Sunday afternoon last to play Coralstown/Kinnegad in Round 3 of the SFC.
Scores were slow to come by in the opening minutes of the game with Coralstown/Kinnegad finding their feet quicker and getting three early points. Our lads got off the mark after fifteen minutes when Jack Connaughton booted over a two-point free. Before the break, the opposition added another four points (all from play and one two-point score) to lead by five at the interval.
The opposition burst out of the tracks in the second half with 1-2 in quick succession (first they raised an orange flag from play before they rattled the back of the net on the 36th minute). Stephen Connolly got Caulry motoring again when he raised an orange flag on the 37th minute. A converted-free from the same man brought the deficit back to seven. The opposition owned much of the following possession and converted four points from play. Our next score came from the boot of Tadgh Baker, this a well-taken two-pointer. A late point from Tiarnán O’Donovan was sandwiched between further Coralstown/Kinnegad scores as ultimately, the opposition proved too strong and ran out easy winners.
