SFC and J2FC Fixtures
Our seniors make the journey to Shandonagh on Sunday evening next for their ultimate round robin clash of this year’s SFC. The opposition will be provided by The Downs. There was very little to separate the sides when they last met in the 2022 championship as The Downs marginally prevailed on a scoreline of 1-13 to 2-9. All eyes will be on this game and the other Section A fixture as all eventualities are possible with a semi-final, quarter-final and drop-zone places all to be confirmed. Our lads will be undoubtably hungry for a win when they take to the field at 4pm. All supporters are asked to get behind the lads and tickets will be available during the week from links on our social media.
Our juniors also play their final group-stage game when they take on Delvin on the preceding Thursday evening at 7pm in Rochfortbridge. Likewise, they will be hoping for a win to keep up momentum for a quarter-final clash in the coming weeks.
The very best of luck to the team and managements.

U17 Championship
Caulry
1-5
Mullingar Shamrocks 5-13
Our U17s suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Mullingar Shamrocks when they took to the field in the park for this latest championship fixture.
Our lads made a promising start when Cormac Murphy pointed inside the opening 35 seconds. Mullingar Shamrocks matched this score up the opposite end of the field before Dean Burns’ pointed to marginally edge Caulry in front again. Aaron Murphy then stretched this lead to two with his converted-free after a foul on David Gaynor. However, this was as good as it got for Caulry as a trio of Mullingar points overturned the lead. Murphy levelled the tally from another placed-ball, but Mullingar Shamrocks finished the half with a tirade of attacks which yielded 1-4 before the halftime whistle.
It was the opposition who started the second half well, adding an unanswered 3-2. Kyle Rainey registered our first score of the half on the 46th minute when he rattled the back of the Mullingar net despite being surrounded by a strong defence. This goal failed to spur on a Caulry comeback as Mullingar Shamrocks responded with three points from play. Rory Hatton kicked the last Caulry point of the game on the 55th minute as the opposition ran out easy winners.
Team & Scores: John Paul, Michael McSharry, Kyle Byrne, Sean Donnelly, Dean Martin, Cormac Murphy (0-1), Cody Parker, Lee Corcoran, David Gaynor, Kyle Rainey (1-0), Rory Hatton (0-1), Dean Burns (0-1), Brian Doyle, Aaron Murphy (0-2, 2f), Hugo McGowan
