History awaits! For the first time since our ladies’ adult team was formed in 2018, our club will line out in an Intermediate County Final. 

The girls have battled their way through a number of tough games on the road to the final, most notably overcoming Loughnavalley in the semi-final. Their commitment, determination and hard work throughout the year have been unwavering, and they have gone from strength to strength as a team.

Now, just one more hurdle stands in their way as they face neighbours Moate in the County Final this Saturday at 2pm in Cusack Park. 

We’re calling on ALL our supporters to get behind the girls and create a sea of support for this momentous occasion.

We wish our fantastic ladies and their management team — Michelle, Tom, Rory, Rose, Mary & Jackie — the very best of luck.

Garrycastle 0-13

Our juniors secured themselves a county final spot after a hard fought win over neighbours Garrycastle on Sunday afternoon last.

Our lads got off to a great start when Roan Sweeney rattled the back of the Garrycastle net on the 2nd minute after combining well with Thomas Dunning. The team’s shared a tally of four points then (Liam Malynn and Aaron Murphy on target for us). The opposition drew two back when they registered the first two-pointer of the game after thirteen minutes. The sides traded scores with Garrycastle making the most of the breeze and raising a second orange flag on the 29th minute to draw level. Before the break, a well worked short-range point by Malynn edged us in front once again. Sweeney did have a late shot at goal during this period with the Garrycastle keeper doing well to keep the deficit to one at the break. 

On the resumption, the opposition kicked two points to momentarily take the lead. John Maguire restarted our scoring after five minutes following a fine catch at midfield by Dunning. The sides traded a pointed-free apiece before Malynn put Caulry in front once again when he booted over a two-point score (this effort bouncing and ending up over the bar, just narrowly missing the goal). Garrycastle kept in touch though as a point from play brought the gap back to two. Our lads got some breathing space then when Dunning rattled the back of the Garrycastle net on the 50th minute. Before the break, five points were added to the tally (Malynn added a free while Maguire and Alan Lynam took their scores from play well) as our lads had done enough to progress to the county final.
