SFC and J2FC Round 1 Fixtures
Our senior team make a start to their championship campaign this weekend when they make the short journey to Moate on Saturday evening. The opposition will be provided by Mullingar Shamrocks and throw in for this clash is at 7:15pm. Our lads will be hoping to make a positive start to their campaign by racking up an important win. All supporters are asked to get behind the lads.
In a similar vein, our second team will also battle it out against Shamrocks for their opening round clash of the Junior 2 Championship on the preceded Friday evening. The lads make the journey to Springfield for a 7:45pm throw in.
We wish both sides the very best of luck.

Ladies Division 2 League Final
Caulry 4-5
Coralstown/Kinnegad 2-17
Our ladies came up short in their league final when they battled it out against Coralstown/Kinnegad on Sunday afternoon last.
The opposition were quick off the mark as they added three points from the offset. Karrissa Burns opened our scoring account after ten minutes. Leah Quigley was unlucky up front then as a goal chance went astray before Coralstown/Kinnegad travelled the field and finished with a point. The opposition kicked the first goal of the game at the end of this opening quarter with a high ball in. This gave them a good platform to build off as they added 0-4 to our 0-2 (Kate Stuart Trainor on target for Caulry) to extend their lead. Just before the interval, Stuart Trainor booted home a goal to reduce the gap to seven at the break.
The opposition outscored Caulry during the third quarter of the game to keep their advantage intact. Our girls seemed to come to life in the later stages of the game, courtesy of a second goal from Stuart Trainor. However, just as we got close, Coralstown/Kinnegad pulled away with 1-1 in quick succession. Late scores from Jasmine Maloney, Stuart Trainor and Quigley proved inconsequential as ultimately, it wasn’t our day.
Team & Scorers: Aisling Claffey, Susan Duignan, Amy Murphy, Grace Shortall, Ella Corcoran, Sophie Padden, Lauren Claffey, Jasmine Maloney (1-0), Ruth Martin, Aishling Gaynor, Molly Connaughton, Kate Stuart Trainor (2-4, 1f), Karrissa Burns (0-1), Megan Clinton, Leah Quigley (1-0)
