Division 7 ACFL Round 3
Caulry 2-12
Maryland 1-5
Our third team made it three wins from three games when they hosted Maryland in the park on Thursday evening last.
Maryland were first off the mark with a point inside the opening 60 seconds. Lee Corcoran opened our scoring account in style when he raised an orange flag after six minutes. Liam Malynn and Cody Parker both kicked points either side of Maryland’s second score of the game. The visitors cut the deficit back to two briefly when they added consecutive points on the 18th and 22nd minutes. However, our lads saw out the half well as they added an unanswered 1-5 to pull away. Points from Malynn (two frees, one a two pointer) and Parker (two well taken points from play) preceded the first goal of the game from Nicky Killane to see the scoreboard reading. 1-10 to 0-4 at the interval.
Corcoran began the second half scoring seven minutes after the restart. Maryland made a dent in our lead then when they scored a goal from play on the 38th minute. Parker got us back on track when he added 1-1 in quick succession. The visitors kicked the last point of the game then as ultimately, our lads eased across the finish line.

Ladies Division 2 League Round 3
Caulry 3-10
Athlone 1-8
Our ladies picked up their first brace of points of this year’s league when they made the journey to Athlone on a fine Sunday afternoon last.
The sides were evenly matched throughout the first half. Our girls went in front with a brace of points and a goal from play. The homeside kept in touch though and after a late first half goal for the homeside, the sides were level. Just before the interval, Athlone added a point from play to lead by the narrowest of margins.
Leah Quigley, who was impressive throughout the game, accounted for our first four attacks of the second half, two of which were successful. Initially, she rattled the back of the Athlone net before finishing with a point to put our girls in front. Erin O’Faolain added our next score of the game on the 35th minute. Athlone kicked points either side of a converted free by Quigley. Ruth Martin and O’Faolain widened the gap between the sides then before Jasmine Maloney riffled the back of the opposition’s net to secure our girls the win.
