Girls Minor Championship Semi Final
Caulry 2-8
Loughnavalley 5-12
Our minor girls bowed out of this year’s championship in the semi final stages when they hosted Loughnavalley on a cold Sunday afternoon last.
The opposition were first off the mark when a dropping free ended up in the back of our net. Karrissa Burns got Caulry motoring then with a point from play before Lauren White struck lucky with a goal to put our girls in front. A point from Ciara Nally preceded two Loughnavalley points. White added a point of her own on the 21st minute. However, the opposition hit a slight purple patch before halftime as they led 2-5 to 1-3.
Our girls made a great restart to the game when Erin O’Faolain added two points in the opening 60 seconds. Despite the optimistic reset, it was the opposition who impressed as they added a flurry of goals and points then. A couple of points from O’Faolain kept the scoreboard ticking over. White managed to sneak in a late goal but ultimately, our fate was sealed as Loughnavalley progress to the final.
