Boys’ U16 League Round 3
Caulry 3-6
St. Loman’s 4-15
Our U16 boys were defeated by St. Loman’s when they hosted the Mullingar side in the park on Easter Monday last.
Our lads hit the ground running when Luke Berry fired home a goal straight from the throw-in. The sides shared four points then with Sam Hatton on target for Caulry. Despite multiple interventions from Devon Martin in goals throughout this first passage, the opposition managed to sneak in their first three-pointer on the 12th minute to put their noses in front. The Mullingar side added 1-3 to their tally before the interval with Caulry converting three points from Gavin McSharry, Ryan Doyle and Hatton to trail at the break.
Our boys made a good start to the second half when Doyle got a goal after pulling on a loose ball. However, it wasn’t long before St. Loman’s settled back into proceedings as they took their scores with ease to widen the gap once again. Interspersed between the opposition’s scores, Caulry added 1-1 (Darragh Martin on target for both) as ultimately, the Mullingar side eased into the win.
Team & Scorers: Devon Martin, Brian Moran, Tom Madden, Marcus Grant, Senan Hatton, Darragh Belton, Cathal Casey, Gavin McSharry (0-1), Ewan Kelly, Caelan O’Neill, Luke Berry (1-0), Kevin O’Brien, Ryan Doyle (1-1), Sam Hatton (0-3, 2), Darragh Martin (1-1)

Boys’ U14 Football
League Round 3
Caulry 2-4
Multyfarnham 4-10
Our U14 boys were defeated by Multyfarnham when they hosted the side in the park on Wednesday evening last.
Caulry started the game well with Senan Hatton opening the scoring account within the first minute. Multyfarnham soon put their noses in front with a myriad of points and two well-taken goals. This gave them a platform to work off for the entirety of the remainder of the game. Hatton kicked a duo of points on the 23rd and 26th minutes. Aengus Baker then had it back to a five-point game when he took advantage of the solo and go rule and fired the ball to the back of the net just before the interval.
On the resumption, early Multyfarnham points further stretched their lead. Robert O’Dowd rattled the back of the opposition’s net on the 39th minute when he pulled on a loose ball after Hatton’s initial effort was saved. Hatton converted our last score of the game in the 55th minute (this a free after Baker was fouled) but ultimately, Multyfarnham proved too strong for our boys on the evening.
Team & Scorers: Devon Martin, Shea Ledwith, Rory Hasson, Charlie Buckley, Joe Walsh, Kyle Mason, Ruiari Corcoran, Robert O’Dowd (1-0), Senan Hatton (0-4, 1f), Gavin Hennessy, Sean Maguire, Cillian Moran, Joe Carroll, Zach Buckley, Aengus Baker (1-0)
Subs: Abdullah Awan

Challenge
Caulry 4-11
Milltownpass 5-04
The Caulry lads travelled to Milltownpass recently to take on the local team which turned out to be an entertaining match for all present.
Caulry won the throw in, and Senan Hatton drove straight at the opposition setting up Gavin Henessy for the opening point of the game. Caulry dominated the next 15 mins with scores from Zach Buckley, Cillian Moran, Senan Hatton and Abdullah Awan before Milltownpass replied with two goals of their own. Keeper Devon Martin was orchestrating attacks via his accurate kick outs and Kyle Mason and Charlie Buckley were thwarting many opposition attacks and counter attacking with great success. Robert O’Dowd was linking up well with defence and assisting the forward unit which resulted in two final points before half time from Robert and Senan leaving Caulry 2-06 to 2-01 at the break.
Upon resumption Milltownpass started much stronger and put over two points before Caulry replied with a well taken Cillian Moran goal after good work from Rory Hasson, Daniel Casey and Ruairi Corcoran. Gavin Hennessy followed up with a point, assisted by Shea Ledwith and Robert O’Dowd. Milltownpass had their purple patch scoring 1-01 before Caulry took back control with Ruairi Corcoran intercepting the opposition kick outs on several occasions and linking up well with Conor Lynch and Cillian Moran resulting in scoring 1-04 from Zach, Robert and Senan. Kyle Mason, Shea Ledwith, Daniel Casey and Charlie Buckley continued to impress with their surges out of defence. Milltownpass did manage a couple of late scores but Caulry emerged victorious at the final whistle.
This was a very entertaining game and no doubt these teams will meet again this season.
Team 7 Scorers: Devon Martin, Rory Hasson, Kyle Mason, Charlie Buckley, Shea Ledwith, Daniel Casey, Robert O’Dowd (0-2), Senan Hatton (0-4), Gavin Hennessy (0-2), Zach Buckley (1-2), Ruairi Corcoran, Abdullah Awen (1-0), Cillian Moran (2-1), Conor Lynch

Ladies Division 2 League Round 4
Caulry 2-5
Coralstown/Kinnegad 0-14
Our ladies came up short against Coralstown/Kinnegad when they hosted the side in the park on Sunday afternoon last for their fourth round of the league.
Coralstown/Kinnegad were helped into a lead with a myriad of points from playing within the opening five minutes. Aine Gaynor kicked our one and only score of this half after eight minutes when her free kick dropped short and into the back of the opposition’s net. It was the visitors who impressed mostly up front throughout the game as they took their points from any and every angle. We did have some chances which we failed to convert. One such example saw Ava Hallissy’s goal shot being well blocked down on the 25th minute as Coralstown/Kinnegad punished us with a point from play to lead by five at the break.
Our girls took their chances better in the second half. Lauren White pointed on the 35th minute after a good move by Jasmine Maloney. Gaynor converted a free after a duo of Coralstown/Kinnegad points before the same girl fired home a goal (this time it was Karrissa Burns who was instrumental in setting up the score). Maloney finished with a point on the 49th minute before Kate Stuart Trainor and Gaynor both added late scores as ultimately, Coralstown/Kinngead escaped with the win.
Team & Scorers: Rachel Maguire, Susan Duignan, Ruth Martin, Anna Malone, Aisling Murphy, Aishling Gaynor, Jasmine Maloney (0-1), Ella Corcoran, Amy Murphy, Karrissa Burns, Aine Gaynor (2-2, 1f), Leah Hallissy, Ava Hallissy, Molly Connaugthon, Lauren White (0-1)
Subs: Megan Clinton for Leah Hallissy, Kate Stuart Trainor (0-1) for Ava Hallissy, Aoife Collins for Susan Duignan, Suin Lyons for Lauren White, Caoimhe Lawless for Molly Connaughton, Michelle Flynn for Karrissa Burns
