Minor AGM
Our club Minor AGM takes place this Thursday, 28th of November in Mount Temple Community Hall at 7:45pm. All welcome.

Club AGM
The Annual General Meeting of our club took place on Friday evening last in Mount Temple Community Hall.
Outgoing chairman Richie Higgins extended a warm welcome to attendees and began his address. Richie began by mentioning the ongoing development and how we can look forward to the opening of the new facilities shortly. He gave a brief run down of how our teams represented our club so well this year and extended sincere gratitude to all management teams and coaches. He further thanked the club minor committee, GPO and ladies committee for their work during the year. Richie praised the work of Seamus Claffey as park maintenance officer and of Jim and Sean who keep our facilities looking so well. Richie also complimented to work of Kevin Connaughton and his fellow development committee, alongside contractor John G Buckley and his staff as they prepare our new gym and dressing rooms which will be of ‘great benefit’ to our club and local community. Richie also praised all who represented our club on county teams, in particular mentioning Kevin Maguire for giving our club many years of enjoyment. Richie thanked the local schools for their continued promotion of the games in our community and thanked fellow committee members and officers for their support during the year. Richie finished by offering sympathies to all who lost loved ones this year, mentioning some of our key club stalwarts that passed.
Outgoing secretary Keith Dolan then gave his address. He gave a full run down of match results for the year, terming our senior campaign as a season of "two halves"; having gained promotion to Division 1 of the ACFL for the first time since 2016 but falling short of a knock-out spot in the championship and dropping to Section B for 2025. He reiterated many of the chairman's messages of gratitude to management teams, coaches, supporters, fellow committee members and club members. He praised all those who represented our club at inter county level too, congratulating Kevin Maguire, Senan Baker, Conor McCormack and Jack Connaughton for their part played in Westmeath's Division 3 success. He stated it would be remiss of him not to single out Kevin, having announced his inter county retirement earlier this year, and congratulated him on his stellar inter county career. Keith concluded his address by wishing everyone a happy Christmas and new year.
Outgoing treasurer Damien Dolan presented a comprehensive report of the club's finances over the past year and thanked all supporters and sponsors for their continued generosity.

Junior B Championship Quarter Final
Caulry 5-13
Ballymore 0-5
Our Junior B’s had a comprehensive win in their quarter-final pairing against Ballymore in blustery conditions in the park on Sunday morning last.
Aided with the strong breeze at their backs, our lads completely took charge of proceedings from the throw-in and built up a dominate lead. A free from Liam Malynn opened the scoring account before Colin Murphy overturned the Ballymore kickout and set Luke Buckley up for a goal. Further points from Buckley, Olan Healy and Thomas Dunning were added before the opposition ever got their first attack; this coming on the 9th minute but fell short of the target as a result of the strong wind. Rather than a score for the opposition, it was a Caulry point that came next; this time from the boot of Alan Daly. Dunning, Shane Lawless and Buckley all split the posts within the next three minutes. Buckley struck lucky for a second time on the 17th minute when he riffled the ball to the back of the Ballymore net after Healy overturned a Ballymore attack. Malynn and Daly added further points before Ballymore kicked their opening score of the game on the 24th minute from a free. Their second point came within minutes of this and in a similar fashion too as their no. 15 tapped over a routine free. However, Dunning drew this one back before the interval as Caulry retreated to the dugout at the break with a 2-11 to 0-2 lead.
The opposition started the second half with good intent, sending over an early point now with the breeze in their favour. However, a goal from Lawless on the 33rd minute soon diminished their hopes for a win. The rate of scores reduced significantly in this period as the Trojan-like Caulry defence refused to let Ballymore back into the game. The sides shared just four points within the next quarter-hour of play; Buckley and Healy added Caulry’s points while Ballymore’s no. 5 was their sole scorer during this period. In the late stages of the game, Lawless and Buckley added goals: Lawless doing well on the 49th minute, rounding the opposition’s defence before pocketing a goal as Buckley’s hattrick came on the 57th minute. Ultimately, our lads were too strong for the opposition and ran out comfortable winners to secure a place in the semi-final.
Team & Scorers: Cillian Nagle, Will Buckley, Sean Murphy, Glenn Carolan, Oisín Shortall, Olan Healy (0-2), Harry Stuart Trainor, Colin Murphy, Shane Lawless (1-2), Brendan McCormack, Tom Cloonan, Alan Daly (0-2), Luke Buckley (3-3), Liam Malynn (0-2, 1f), Thomas Dunning (0-2)
Subs: Adam Donoghue for Brendan McCormack
