Minor League
Caulry 0-19
Coralstown/Kinnegad 1-8
Our minors eased over Coralstown/Kinnegad when they hosted them in the park on Bank Holiday Sunday last.
Coralstown/Kinnegad started the game well with three points in quick succession. Despite this promising start, the visitors failed to push on as Cormac Murphy opened our scoring account on the 6th minute after running the full length of the field from full back. Our lads then got a trio of points in quick succession between the 11th and 12th minutes with Lee Corcoran, Kyle Rainey and Rory Hatton on target to put our lads in the lead. Caulry continued to outscore the opposition 0-6 to 0-1 as they dominated the half. Coralstown/Kinnegad’s singular score came just before the interval from a free to leave the scoreboard reading 0-11 to 0-4.
The teams traded points in the early stages of the second half with Hugo McGowan adding two for Caulry. Our lads had notched up another three points before the opposition’s next score of the game. This came on the 47th minute in the form of a goal to inject a bit of excitement. Coralstown/Kinnegad then followed this up with two points to reduce the gap to four. However, this was as good as it got for the visitors as further points from Dean Burns, Corcoran, Dean Martin and Tyler Mason saw our lads take the win.
