The annual general meeting of our club took place this evening in the community hall.
Outgoing chairman Richie Higgins welcomed the good-sized crowd and thanked all for coming.
After the formalities of the evening, Richie presented his Chairman’s Address. He spoke about the busy and eventful year our club had. He commended the work of our adult teams with our seniors reaching their first semi-final since championship restructuring and our juniors qualifying for a quarter-final in the J2FC. He thanked all those involved with these set-ups from the players and management teams to those involved with the general running and upkeep of the squads. Richie spoke about the successful year of our underage and ladies teams and praised the work of the both committees. He also extended gratitude to Seamus Claffey, Sean and Jim for the upkeep of our grounds. Richie looked forward to our development which will start in the new year and praised highly the hard work of Kevin Connaughton and his fellow fundraising committee members for their hugely successful running of the Lord of the Mount Fundraiser. He praised all those who have represented our club at county level, with his highlight being the contribution of Kevin Maguire, Senan Baker and Conor McCormack to the senior set-up. He further thanked his fellow officers, sponsors, players, mentors and parents for all their support during the year and concluded by saying how we can look forward to the new year with hope and aspiration.
The Secretary’s report then followed. Outgoing secretary Keith Dolan gave a run down of all the games during the year at adult level and thanked all those involved for their commitment during the year. He spoke highly about the work off the pitch, namely our fundraising efforts during the year. He thanked all those involved, particularly the work of our development officer and committee for their organising of the Lord of the Mount fundraiser which he stated exceeded all expectations. Keith further thanked management teams, sponsors, supporters and all our club volunteers for their contributions, and concluded by wishing everyone a happy Christmas and new year.
