U19 Championship Semi-Final

Coralstown/Kinnegad 1-20
Our U19s bowed out of this year’s championship in the semi-final stages when they came up short against Coralstown/Kinnegad on Friday evening last.
Our lads were very slow to get going as the homeside had tagged on 0-9 before Caulry got off the mark. Our opening score came on the 22nd minute from the boot of Lee Corcoran, but this was closely followed by a corresponding Coralstown/Kinnegad point. Tiarnán O’Donovan then kicked a duo of scores, one from play and one from a free. The opposition rounded off the first half scoring with a free to lead comprehensively at the break.
Our lads came out with their tails up in the second half as O’Donovan fired home a goal inside the resuming minute of the half. The teams then traded points with Paul Hogan on target for Caulry on the 37th minute. The opposition then took back control of proceedings with an unanswered four points. Points from Corcoran, Andrew Stuart Trainor and Hogan drew three of these back. However, the homeside finished the half with 1-1 to secure their spot in the county final.
