Intermediate Championship
Caulry 4-14
Clann Gaels 2-8
Showing great commitment Caulry ladies travelled back from university and work around the country to be available for this rearranged match at the Bunbrosna venue.
Their desire was evident from the throw in as the speedy midfield duo, of Megan Clinton and Ruth Martin set the platform with a good supply to an eager forward line that had Kate Stuart Trainor in fine scoring form scoring a phenomenal 2-7 from play with great combination from the forward colleagues. With Jade Harney, backing a solid back line led by the inspirational, Amy Murphy, the hosts found it difficult to get a foothold in the game. The half time score read 2-9 to 0-5.
Our girls continued in a similar vein on the resumption of play to run out comfortable winners despite the concession of two avoidable goals near the end. In doing so we have secured a semi-final spot with one game to go. Our final group match is a home fixture on next Saturday evening, 5pm versus Loughnavalley.
