Intermediate Championship
Caulry 2-7
Coralstown Kinnegad 3-14
Caulry played host to last year’s beaten finalists, Coralstown Kinnegad on Thursday evening last. The early exchanges were even enough with Caulry leading on three separate occasions. However playing with the elements in their favour the visitors built up a commanding half time lead 2-7 to 0-3 with Caulry rue hitting the crossbar and post on a couple of occasions.
Despite not finding their cohesion of previous matches Caulry showed some fighting spirit and character to reduce the deficit to three points with well worked goals from Jasmine Maloney and Megan Clinton. We also had some glaring misses to even be ahead and inevitably were hit on the break by a strong opposition who maximised their scoring opportunities and subs bench to run comfortable winners on the scoreboard.
While a disappointing result for our depleted forces there is plenty more to come from this talented group of girls.
Caulry: Jade Harney, Ella Corcoran, Susan Dignan, Grace Shortall, Aoife Collins, Amy Murphy, Ruth Martin, Megan Clinton (1-0), Jasmine Maloney (1-0), Molly Connaughton (0-1), Ava Hallissy (0-5), Rachel Maguire (0-1), Sarah Jane Hasson, Aishling Gaynor capt, Kate Stuart Trainor, Siun Lyons, Anna Malone.
